Jack and I have been waiting a long time to show you the commemorative plate that our museum is producing in honour of the 125th anniversary of Lucy Maud Montgomery's birth. It is finally here, as you can see on this page, plus a matching tea mug which unfortunately can't be shipped.

I hope that you like the look of the final design of the plate against its green background. I love it. The plate and tea mug are now under production by Viletta China, a prestige china firm in Mississauga just west of Metropolitan Toronto.

We now have a small supply of both the numbered plates and the tea mugs at Bala's Museum and hope to have the complete order by the end of June. The plates can be ordered directly from us (sorry that we can't ship the mugs).

We expect that the plates will be available shortly at other LMM heritage sites across Canada and we hope that you will support them. In particular, we hope that the plates can help raise money for restorations at the Leaskdale Manse.

The price of the plates, established after discussions with some other heritage sites, is $44.95 (Canadian dollars), plus the cost of shipping. Like the excellent limited edition collectors' plates issued by the Bradford Exchange, the LMM plates and mugs will increase in value after they enter your collection.
