Huttons Ragtime Calendar 2008 May
23, 24, 25, White Pines Resort, Alexandria Bay, N.Y.
Grand
International Ragtime/Jasstime Society This
will be the 20th consecutive time that Jack has been invited to perform at the
Alexandria Bay festival in New York State, playing his trademark mixture of classic
ragtime, stride piano and nuggets from the Golden Era. One of his sets will be
a tribute to the memory of John Arpin. Another will be a mini-seminar on silent
movie piano. Jack is looking forward to playing two or three sets with stride
genius Paul Asaro, and also playing the gospel prelude on Sunday morning. A busy
weekend! To learn more about this great festival, e-mail wnpauli@rogers.com. Friday,

Hutton and Friends Return
Last
year, there was barely enough room to seat everyone who turned out for Jack Hutton
and Friends when the toe-tapping group celebrated the music of Dunns Pavilion
in Port Carling, Ontario. The Aug. 8th concert in Gravenhurst will be part two
as the group continues its salute to the music once heard in Dunns Pavilion
at Bala. Photographer Jon Gurr captured a great moment at right as the group played
Ellingtons "Mood Indigo". In the photo: Jack (eyes closed) piano,
Willie Wilson, banjo and guitar, Brian Bauer, clarinet and reeds, Lenny Boyd,
string bass, and Bob Livingston, trombone. For tickets, call: 1-888-495-8888 or
